2007 Xmas Luncheon

2007 Xmas Luncheon

For a number of years now the Crystal Water Beach Ladies have had an Xmas Luncheon to be hosted by a different individual in their home each year. Previous hosts have been Heather Bruce, Jane Baynham, Judy Reitenbach, Barb Laurillard and others which I have a seniors moment about.

Well this year Katrina Watts was the host. She had the place ready with music, platters, lovely xmas glasses, the snowy village, and tables set. About 35 guests had RSVP to come, Sue McInnes, Kelly Fuller and Malcolm, and Sarah Watts arrived to help early in the morning. All was going swingingly until the e-mail's and phone calls started to make their apologies for not attending. Why you ask --- Well wouldn't you know it mother nature decided on Friday night before the event to start snowing on the lower mainland, and by Saturday Vancouver streets were slippery with ice and snow. Cars crashing over the side of embankments and generally a no go driving scene.

It is the first of our Xmas luncheons to be cancelled. A disappointment to the host, but we would not have liked the possibility of anyone having an accident on the way home or other such luck, so it was the right thing to do.

At the moment the event will not be re-scheduled, but we will look forward to another host for next year. Any takers???

Auntie Sarah had a wonderful cuddle.

David and Malcolm were looking for the people. Well maybe Malcolm not so much.

Thank you for all the great e-mails. It was fun getting the finery out and decorating. As you see it did look great. On to next year.

Katrina's readiness

The Table was set.
Waiting for the scrumptious food.
The dishes were ready for the great food to be placed. What a feast it always is. These ladies know how to cook.
The glasses were ready and waiting for the fine ale to be poured.
The snow village was set for all to admire
Ahh but Mother Nature fooled us all.
